Year and a Half Old!

We celebrated my 18 month birthday on Wednesday.
Our friend Chris was in town, and we met him at The Hard Dock Cafe for dinner. Thomas was also there and joined us for some drinks. The Hard Dock is our very favorite restaurant! It is a casual bar/restaurant and set right on the Tennessee River - perfect for relaxing, watching the sun set, and just enjoying life!

I had fun eating goldfish and feeding them to the fish.
what a truly amazing sunset

My First Real Haircut

After a few attempts by family and friends to clip my mullet in the back, we decided it was time for me to get my first official haircut. We have an old family friend who is now cutting hair in Hartselle. Lucky for me, Mrs. Courtney is GREAT with kids, and I had a wonderful time with her.
I was very uncertain and clinging to mama in the beginning.
They tried to get me to wear this silly cape - like I was getting ready to fly or something.
I would have nothing to do with it!
Mrs. Courtney had Elmo playing on a dvd player at her station, and she gave me a popsicle.
Eventually, I warmed up to the idea and decided everything was going to be just fine.
I even got to play with a pair of scissors and pretended that I was helping.
smiling for the camera with my "big boy" haircut
awwww.....shucks....You girls have got to stop carrying on about my good looks. I'm getting a little embarassed.

Buried in the Sand!

I'm not too sure about this.
Ok....now this is fun!
Let's see what happens when I lean back.
It's been fun, but now it's time to get out of this itchy, sticky sand.

Yeah! I'm so proud of myself!

Let's see just how deep that hole was.

Family Vacation

I just returned from a week's vacation at Grayton Beach in Destin, Florida. I went with Daddy, Mommy, Gigi, Nana, Aunt Kathleen, Uncle Charles, "Grandaddy" Craig, Aunt Cat, my cousin Andrea and her baby Dylan, and my cousin Briana. Our house had 8 bedrooms, 8 bathrooms, a swimming pool in the backyard, and it was one block down the street from The Red Bar.
Riding in my wagon to the beach was one of my favorite parts of the vacation!
I had a wonderful time running up and down the beach and playing in the water. The water was crystal clear all week, and my family did lots of snorkeling. We did have to deal with jellyfish a couple of days and had a couple of shark sightings. That was awfully exciting!
I had an absolute blast playing in the sand!
Aunt Kathleen taught me how to build sand castles with my buckets. Dumping the sand out was my favorite part.
Tuesday night we had dinner at the Hurricane Oyster Bar. It is my Daddy's favorite restaurant. We also ate at Cafe 331, The Red Bar, and D&K Cafe.

"Drumming" my lips is one of my favorite activities now.

I learned to say "please" this past week. It sounds kind of like peeezzz. And, I am now calling my blankeys by name - "bees".
