Gone are the days of alphabetized "sprinkles!"

I love to stand in the chair or sit on the counter and help cook. Using the "sprinkles" (i.e. spices) is my favorite part!
Here, Dada....Let me show you why my organizational ways are better.

Breathtaking Beauty

Well, as you probably know by now, we are moving to Tennessee. Dada starts his new job on May 5th. He and mama went to Sparta this weekend to meet people and look at houses. Gigi and I had a wonderful weekend together! I guess I'm going to have to start sharing my blog and branching outside the busy days of just Dawson. So, "here ya go Mama." You can borrow it today.
*****************************
Many of you have asked to see pictures, so here are some of my favorites. The above pictures are from a scenic overlook which is located in Sparta.
This is actually the "side yard" of a person's home on a residential street.
This is the view from a beautiful home on "the bluff" - which is a residential area known as Rim Rock Mesa.
another view from a home on "the bluff"
This is the view from a residential area on Story Mountain.
the side view of a home in one of the popular neighborhoods - known as Gillen
This is actually the "side yard" of that house and right in the middle of the neighborhood. Many of the homes in the residential areas have farm land - or "side yards" - as I like to call them. It's not unusual for there to be cattle in your neighbor's backyard.
The crazy thing about this is that the "natives" think nothing of it. They laughed at the realtor for taking us to the scenic overlook. This beautiful area causes you to truly step back and take in the amazing wonder of God's creation. As one of our new friends said so perfectly yesterday, "it is good for the soul."

Now Open!

my swimming pool!

Now, we just need some warmer weather. The water is extremely cold! I had a great time helping Daddy clean the pool. My favorite part was watching the "vacuum." Oh no! Where did the vacuum go? (That is one of my favorite questions, and I always do the hand motions with it. Where did it go?)

Easter

We celebrated Easter at Great's and Sherri's house in Hoover on Saturday, and we went to hear Great preach at Riverchase on Saturday night. I had a wonderful time eating candy and hunting Easter eggs! Thanks so much, Savages, for a very special day!
Oooooh.... look! The Easter bunny came!
Ok....I'll smile for the camera and try to act like I give one flip about this little stuffed duck.
Now, back to the candy.
"Little duck, would you like some jelly beans?"
Aunt Sherri and I played Easter hymns on the piano. I kept going back for more all day.

Playgroup at the Park

I went to the park with some of my friends earlier in the week. We've had several days of beautiful weather, and this day was supposed to be one of them. Unfortunately, it didn't warm up as expected. Also, the park is on the river, so it's extra windy. We toughed out the cool weather and still had a great time. It was a really big day for me, because I got my first Happy Meal from McDonalds! Though I was very excited about my "cheeboog" I couldn't sit around long enough to really enjoy it. Guess we'll just have to go back to Macky D's sometime soon.
No, mom....I'm sorry. I really don't have time to sit around and eat. Gotta go!
We got to see a train!!! You would have thought it was Christmas. From the moment we heard the whistle, until it was gone, we were simply ecstatic! There was another train passing over the bridge, so it had to stop and wait its turn to cross the tracks. Boy was that cool! We stood really close to it, and I was mesmerized by its gigantic size.
Bibby and Lillianna were so excited that they decided to dance a little jig.
on the seesaw with Sam I loved this red fire truck. I had fun pretending to drive, making siren sounds, and cleaning up. Yes. I had to "clean up" the fire truck by picking up all the wood chips and leaves that had collected on the floorboard and putting them on the seat. I truly am my father's child!
Typically, I don't like to swing, because it means I have to be still. But, when I start to get sleepy, it can be rather enjoyable.

Playhouse Disney Show

On Sunday, I went to see the Mickey Mouse show in Birmingham at the BJCC. I saw Mickey and all his friends, Tigger and Pooh, the Little Einsteins, and Handy Manny. We met Layton, Leeann, and George at the show.
After the show, we went to George's house. Layton and I got to run around in the backyard, and then we all went to dinner at Jackson's Brewery in Homewood. It was another great day! Thanks for having us over "Geege."

Dawson turns 2!

I had a great birthday party on Saturday! We tried to keep it "small" - just my family and a few special friends. My birthday cake was so yummy, and I got wonderful presents! Thanks to all my friends who thought about me, called, and commented on my blog for my birthday. I'm a very lucky boy to have such special friends and family! An extra special thank you to Matt for taking all of these awesome pictures! Enjoy my birthday show!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I am two years old today! I can tell you and sometimes I can show you with my fingers.
Before I proceed with telling about my birthday, I need to back up and tell you about my recent fascination with jelly beans. As you can tell, this picture was taken about a month ago - before my big boy haircut. Mama and I were at the library picking out books when I saw it out of the corner of my eye. This book - Great Estimations - propped on the display shelf - started screaming my name. As I ran to it, I began saying over and over again with a great big smile - "jay beees, jay beeees, jay beeees." It took mama a little while to figure out what I was saying, because she didn't know that I knew what jelly beans were. Naturally, she thought I was a genius who had already correctly estimated the number of jelly beans on the cover! After much insistence, we checked out the (5th grade math) book and headed home. I talked about eating "jay beeees" most of the way home and then fell asleep while reading the book. For the next 3 weeks, that was the only book I wanted to read. I would look at the pictures in the book, pretend to count all the objects, and keep turning back to the page with jelly beans. So, periodically since then I have been asking for "jay beees" and haven't gotten them very often. Well, with Easter around the corner, the odds of me getting them have increased!!
My birthday started out with "jay beees" for breakfast! YUMMY!!! After getting them I ate two and then took the rest to Lizzy's bed. I pulled out all her blankets, went inside with my jelly beans, and closed the door.
"Here ya go Lizzy......Sorry I'm in your bed....I'll pay you rent in jay bees!"
As I was putting on my "birthday outfit" and getting ready for "school church" (Community Bible Study), I had a talk with God.
"Dear Lord, please let my day be great and wonderful and full of many more presents and jelly beans!"
I had a great time playing at school/church with all my little friends, Ms. Eleanor (my girlfriend/teacher), and Ms. Charlotte. After church, Mama and I went to lunch at Bank Street Deli with Lillianna, Carroll Lane, and baby Ellenie. They all sang Happy Birthday and then Carroll Lane gave me more jelly beans! Surprisingly (hee hee), things were a little hectic at lunchtime with 2 kids and a baby, and we weren't able to get any pictures of me and the girls. But, we did get a picture of me playing with the most wonderful train which is in the best toy store in Decatur (where all mommy's toys used to come from). The toy store is connected to the deli. I also got to play in a golf cart! It was cool! I love to be in any kind of car!
"tuckered out" from a busy morning! This morning, for my birthday, I got a backpack, a new vacuum cleaner, and a broom! I think my parents were very happy to get me cleaning supplies! Here are some pictures of me - very proud with my new presents!
I had to visit everyone at "Doc Dug's" office and show them my new presents. While I was there, I decided to sweep a little. After playing there and eating MORE jelly beans, I went to dinner with Gigi. Then Daddy came home from work with another birthday present - a new train car! I've had a wonderful day and am so happy to be 2 years old! Who knew birthdays could be such fun?! I plan to celebrate more this weekend! Look out for more pictures later. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Silly Boy

So, I refuse to sit still and smile long enough to have my picture made. I typically jump up right before the flash goes off and run to the camera, because I like to see the picture on the camera. That is what I'm doing in this picture. Fortunately, the camera caught me just in time. Truly, I am acting more and more like a little boy every day! And...I have a new favorite object! Any guesses? I would love to have more comments made on my blog. The Grahams win the "Favorite Blogger Friends" award! Thanks for all the great comments guys!
