I went with my great grandmother Taylor to meet her sister, Aunt Devota, a.k.a. Nanny. Nana, Aunt Kathleen, mommy, and I had a wonderful time visiting with them. I sat in Nanny's chair and was thrilled to discover it could rise and recline with a remote control. She had a special box of toys that I loved playing with. We also enjoyed the beautiful garden and fish pond.
It was fun to meet such a special member of my family!
I LOVE music! Music time with Ms. Meredith is my favorite part of Community Bible Study on Thursdays. She selects new, fun songs and teaches great motions to go along with them. I walk around the house singing them all week and look forward to learning new ones on Thursdays. Today was our last day at CBS for the year, so we did a short musical program for our moms. During our Christmas program, I was on the front row and kept leaning over to look at mom who was standing on the sides helping her students. I would say "Shhhh. Be quiet Mommy." Of course, it was loud enough for everyone to hear, and fortunately, they laughed. Today, I did a great job! I watched Ms. Meredith the whole time, did all the right motions, and sang with all my heart. The children on the left end are mommy's students, and I am on the front row on the right side.
We sang, "Oh, Happy Day," "God You are Great!" "Little Me," and the Bible verses we have learned this year.
Auctions are a REALLY big deal in Sparta. They happen every weekend, and you never know what you'll find. A couple weeks ago our friends organized an auction to raise money for "Rebuilding Together" which was a community service project last weekend. Mom and I went by to donate a few things and help set up. As soon as we walked in the door, I saw this bicycle and ran straight to it. I hopped on and started peddling. Mom was amazed, because I have never been very interested in riding my tricycle or any other riding toys for that matter. I rode around that building with very little help for an hour. Lucky for me, mommy and daddy went back to the auction that night and got the bicycle. The next morning we went to get a helmet and elbow pads - Lightning McQueen of course! I have been so excited about my "new" big boy bike!
The changes have begun! I moved into my "big boy room," so that my baby brother can have my old room. The bed I've been sleeping in was converted from my crib, so it's time to change it back and pass it on. We had a hard time deciding how to arrange the furniture in my new room, but after lots of help from Matt and Ashley, we finally found an arrangement that would work.
This is the furniture that was in my Daddy's room when he was growing up. We are very grateful that Nana and Pop kept it and passed it on to us.
It is now time to paint, hang pictures, and add finishing touches. I keep asking for "my DAWSON name" to be hung in my new room. It is going to have to be repainted first. Once we get the room finished, I'll post more pictures.
Mommy found this train rug at a consignment sale for $8.00. It's a perfect match!
My closet is even organized - for the moment. :)

First United Methodist Church - Sparta, Tennessee
The Easter Bunny came! I got a keyboard and microphone, "Cars" checkers game, art apron, bubbles, my first frisbee, a book, and lots of jelly beans.
We had a wonderful time dying Easter eggs. I was excited about decorating them with glitter paint after naptime. Immediately after waking from my nap, I ran to the refrigerator, pulled out the flimsy cardboard tray with the colored eggs, carried it across the kitchen, and dropped it. Yes. The eggs went everywhere and cracked. I was easily distracted from my disappointment with my first ever Cadbury egg, and we still hid the eggs for a quick hunt in the front yard.

Who would have thought schools would be closed and we'd be missing Bible study AGAIN due to a snow day in April??!!! Mommy and I enjoyed our lazy morning. We cooked a big, delicious breakfast, and I wore my new special apron that Aunt Kathleen made for me. It's a perfect fit, Aunt Kathleen! Thanks!
We went to the beach for my actual birthday. My Great Great Uncle David invited us to stay with him at a condo in Orange Beach, Alabama. Despite the rainy weather and the ear infections at the end of the weekend, we had a wonderful time! The weather in the mornings was beautiful - overcast and 70s - so we had great playtimes on the beach. More pictures of that will come later.
We went to Tacky Jack's for dinner on my birthday. The weather got a little cool, so my Great Great Uncle David and I got matching sweatshirts.
We ate yummy food, listened to live music, waved to all the big boats cruising by, and watched the sunset on the bay. What a great birthday!
Every great day must eventually come to an end, and there's no better end than falling asleep in the arms of your loved ones.
